Sketching Vancouver

I spent the week in Vancouver on business, but my evenings were free except for catching up on business emails. The walk along the sea wall is breath taking there and the northern part of Vancouver with the mountains as its back-drop were just asking to be sketched. I did these two very quickly (sorry no masterpieces here). These were simple impressions of what I saw nothing more.

You will notice that the first one has a better composition and overall feel. That is because the second one was done after a 1hr walk and I was so tired and longing for a shower and some sushi! Never go to Vancouver without checking the sushi places. Most are very very good.

Aaah! So that's where you've been! I've been wondering why you never drank your coffee in the morning anymore...

Ok, kidding aside - what a wonderful piece! the second one isn't bad at all, but the first one is truly evocative of your walk. Beautiful rendering. Worth the wait.

Zan, what do you mean "no masterpieces?" I really love the first one, you captured the spirit...hope we will visit you soon!

I love the colours and the texture of both of these.
I agree with Neda - they are pretty damn good - and I actually like the sketch book look of the second one - reminds me of some of the studies I've seen
