ACEOs ON EBAY

One of my goals for this year is to broaden my reach across the web for my art. I have a goal of reaching 1000 likes on my Facebook page and I want to sell more art this year than I did in 2012. I am also committed to painting more often and finishing more works this year.

For these reason and because ACEOs are an easy way to introduce my art to new viewers, I have decided to sell ACEOs on eBay.

ACEO stands for Art Card Editions and Originals. They are 3.5"x2.5" card sized pieces of art of every kind and every medium. The history of ACEOs or ATC (Art Trading Cards) goes back to the 1800's when artists used to paint small card sized works and trade them for food, art supplies and as gifts to each other. They preceded the ever popular baseball cards and probably inspired them. In fact the first baseball cards were hand made (not printed) and probably were done by graphic artists for the same purpose as the artists of the 1800's.

ACEOs were revived in the 1990s in in Switzerland, and are very popular today on places like eBay.
Buying art online is easy for some, but many have a hard time with the idea. Many artists offer smaller works including ACEOs because they are cheaper and it is a good way to develop a relationship with art lovers.

ACEOs may be small, but you don't have to treat them that way. I have been in hotel rooms where small original works such as ACEOs were framed in larger frames very nicely. Usually, they are framed floating over a board or in a window like watercolors. You can also get ACEO frames from many locations such as Michael's or if you can find antique frames for older picture (many years ago photographs were printed in ACEO size 3.5"x2.5"). These can be very beautiful.

Please look at my listings on eBay and see if there is one that you like!
